The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) originated in England around 1652. Norwegian Friends were first organised in 1818. Regular meetings for worship are held in Stavanger, Oslo, and Kristiansand, and there are worship groups in Bergen, the Mandal area, Risør, and Trondheim where all are welcome. The Norwegian Society of Friends is a member of the Christian Council of Norway.

Norwegian Friends are organised with separate committees for the major areas of work.
